Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 22, 2026
Gray Bush BJJ operates graybushbjj.com. This policy explains what information the site handles, why it is handled, and the choices available to you.
The useful short version
We collect the email address you voluntarily provide for the newsletter. Our hosting and security providers process ordinary technical logs. Optional analytics and embedded YouTube videos stay off until you allow them through the site’s privacy controls. We do not currently sell personal information, run targeted advertising, offer user accounts, or process purchases on this website.
Information you provide
If you subscribe to the Old Guard newsletter, you provide an email address. MailerLite processes that address to send the confirmation request and future messages. The subscription uses double opt-in, and every newsletter includes an unsubscribe method.
If you email us directly, we receive the information in your message and the address you use to send it. Please do not send sensitive medical, financial, or identification information. This is a jiu-jitsu website, not a secure document vault.
Information handled automatically
Like most websites, our hosting, content-delivery, and security systems may process technical information such as an IP address, browser and device type, requested pages, timestamps, referring pages, and security events. This information is used to deliver the site, prevent abuse, troubleshoot problems, and maintain security.
Privacy choices and cookies
The site stores a necessary cookie named gb_privacy after you save a privacy choice. It remembers whether optional analytics and embedded media may load. You can change that choice at any time by selecting Privacy choices in the footer.
When analytics is rejected or no choice has been made, the site does not load the Google Analytics tag. When embedded media is rejected or no choice has been made, YouTube players are replaced with a notice and a direct link.
Google Analytics
If you allow analytics, the site loads Google Analytics to help us understand which pages are visited and how readers find the site. Google may process device, browser, network, and interaction information and may use cookies or similar technology. You can withdraw permission through the footer privacy controls.
Newsletter and MailerLite
MailerLite provides the newsletter signup and delivery service. The site may load MailerLite’s form script when the newsletter section approaches the screen so the form can validate and respond properly. If you subscribe, MailerLite processes your email address, subscription status, and related delivery and engagement information.
Embedded YouTube videos
Some articles feature YouTube videos. Players use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced domain and load only after you allow embedded media. Once loaded, YouTube may receive technical and interaction information under Google’s own privacy terms. You can also use the direct YouTube link without enabling the embedded player.
Service providers
We use service providers to operate the site, including Hostinger for hosting, Cloudflare for content delivery and security, MailerLite for newsletters, Google for optional analytics, and YouTube for optional embedded videos. These providers process information for their services under their own terms and privacy practices.
How information is used
- To deliver, secure, and maintain the website.
- To send newsletters requested by subscribers.
- To respond to direct messages.
- To understand site performance when analytics permission is granted.
- To comply with legal obligations and address misuse.
Sharing and selling
We share information with service providers only as needed to operate the site and newsletter, or when disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights and safety, or investigate abuse. Gray Bush BJJ does not currently sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising.
Retention
Newsletter information is retained while you remain subscribed and for a reasonable period afterward for suppression, compliance, and recordkeeping. Direct messages are kept as long as reasonably needed to respond and maintain records. Technical logs and optional analytics data are retained according to operational needs and provider settings.
Your choices and rights
You may unsubscribe through any newsletter, change optional-service permissions through the footer, or ask to access, correct, or delete personal information associated with your email address. Applicable law may provide additional rights. We may need to verify a request before acting on it.
International processing
The site is operated for a primarily United States audience. Service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Privacy protections may differ from those in your home country.
Children
Gray Bush BJJ is written for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures intended to protect the site and information handled through it. No internet transmission or storage system is perfectly secure.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the site, its services, or applicable requirements change. The effective date above will be revised when a new version is published.
